I dwell in possibilities”
— - Emily Dickinson

Background and Education:  I grew up in Oregon and attended both the University of Oregon (BS in Social Sciences) and Oregon State University (MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling). I was a non-traditional college student in my thirties when I earned my undergraduate degree and in my 40's when I earned my Masters. I have lived a life full of ups and downs, successes and failures and feel I have a breadth of personal knowledge along with my learned knowledge to share with others.

Professional Experience:  During my counseling internship at OSU-Cascades, I was the Clinic Coordinator for their free counseling clinic that serves volunteer community members in the Central Oregon area (http://osucascades.edu/free-counseling-community-members). I helped to develop the clinic in its first year and carried a caseload of adult clients that were seeking counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma and various life transitions and difficulties.

After graduating from OSU, I secured a position as a Child and Family Therapist at a community outpatient mental health agency providing counseling to children (ages 3 to 18 years of age) and their families. This community agency also provided inpatient and outpatient substance treatment for dual-diagnosed individuals. My qualifications for this position were over 6 years of experience working at social service agencies (both state and non-profit) serving at-risk children and their families.

Since a move from Central Oregon to the Portland area several years ago, I have been working at a recovery oriented, trauma-informed community agency doing interviews and assessments on adults and children who are seeking outpatient mental health counseling.  I opened a private counseling practice in September of 2016.

Current Credentials:  I am registered with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professionals Counselors and Therapists and working toward my state licensure. I am approved to practice counseling under the supervision of a licensed counselor, and work under the clinical supervision of Margie Chance, LPC and Sally Giles, ATR-BC, LPC.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding any ethical or professional considerations, feel free to contact me, my clinical supervisor or the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists at any time.  I am a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), a private certifying agency that identifies counselors who have met the Board’s standard for education, knowledge and experience. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Oregon Counseling Association (ORCA).
